I have an old car and low and behold I’ve made it to June 2008 with having seat belts in it. The funny thing is that I sell Louis vuitton belt seat belt buckle belts like the ones shown here. Many of them are actual vintage recycled buckles web belt buckles from the old cars like GM and Cadillac, but some are new novelty type buckles that are exact models of the real seat belts. Over the years I’ve even accidentally sold a few of these to people who wanted seat-belt buckles or belts for their car and they’ve been surprised to find out that they are for wearing, not just to save your life. I’ve even gotten a couple of seat belt tickets in the past for violating seatbelt laws and I’ve since paid my debt for those crimes to society.
So after years of storage and a variety of mechanical work, my ‘62 Chryler 300 is ready to be back on the road, just in time for the gas crisis, and made street legal. Currently there are no seat belts in this car and it’s never had them. I joke that wearing a belt while driving this car may get me out of a ticket, but it definitely won’t save my life, so that won’t be my solution. Also, unless I put seat belts in this car I won’t be able to drive around with my kids and show them how much fun it is to have people point at your car and yell things like, “cool car”.
I’m starting this blog to chronicle the trials and tribulations of finding and installing seat belts into this vintage car myself. I’ve been hesistant to try and do it in the past worrying about how and where I would need to drill into the car to install seatbelts, but there’s no more time left to be uncertain about this. I’ll post links and information, as well as, do some research on seat belt history and legsilation, which is relevant to the fact that I have to do this, so stay tuned to learn all you’ll ever need to know about seat belts as you follow my steps at making this car safe for the next century.

Does anyone have a ballpark idea what Louis vuitton belts for men this is worth? It’s a solid brass belt buckle. On the front it says “Elvis” across the top, a picture of him holding a guitar in the middle, two smaller full body images of him singing on the sides, and on the bottom it says “The King 1935-1977″. On the back it says Collector’s Edition and the number 1043. On back it also says “The King of Rock and Roll: A legend in his own time-and beyond” by Award Design Metals. It was bought for $50 quite a few years ago. Thank you!
My guess, would be less than you paid. I looked online for Elvis belt buckles and even saw some that said 1935-1977 but they were all under $25. Both on a buckle site and on eBay.
My guess is that it’s one of those collectibles that are specially made as collectibles so they make a lot, even if they do say limited edition and say they only made a certain amount, you know like how in the 80′s and 90′s everyone was collecting plates. And now they’re not worth anything. You say it’s number 1043, so my guess is they made 1500 maybe? And you never know, they could have made 5000.
I think also since it’s one of those purposely made collectibles, if you don’t have the original box and certificate of authenticity, the value is even lower ya know.

To buckle a web-style belt, insert the (usually) metal-clad end into the buckle. Push it in until it’s snug, then slide the pressure bar forward (to the right in this photo) as you release your hand pressure on the belt strap.
There are two types of belt straps that accept interchangeable men’s belt buckles. A web-style strap, such as those used in military uniforms, takes buckles that clamp on at the buckle end of the strap. Your man fastens a web-style strap around his waist by inserting the metal-clad end of the strap into the buckle. A sliding metal bar inside the buckle wedges the strap against the inside of the buckle, holding the strap in place.
A classic leather belt strap that accepts interchangeable buckles folds back on itself at the buckle end. The folded leather loops web belt buckles around a bale on the belt buckle, and snaps mounted in the belt leather hold the assembly together. Pictures make this so much easier to understand, so I’ve included a few to clarify these explanations.
Hopefully the question applies to US web belts, as this contributor has no experience with web belts from other countries. The old-style US web belt is made of cotton duck with three rows of grommets. The new-style US web belt is made of nylon with two rows of grommets which have persisted for some reaon, as the Louis vuitton mens belts newer ALICE and MOLLE equipment do not require them. Perhaps it is to make the new-style web belt compatible with old equipment. If using the old-style web belt, only the male end (not both ends as stated above) is adjustable, and should be on your right side if you are right-handed. [Vice versa for left-handed, no matter for ambidextrous.] Adjust it for your waist size and put it on by holding the female end with your weak hand and turning the male end with your strong hand 90 degrees as per the above. Reverse to take it off. The new-style web belt is adjustable at both ends, and putting it on is even simpler. Engage and push the ends together until they click. To take it off, press the male end and pull the ends apart. As civilians have no use for a combat harness, the web belt may be worn in one of two ways. When wearing the new-style nylon web belt, I prefer it straight across my waist, as the weight of my .45 is more easily supported by my Bianchi nylon holster with ALICE clips. When wearing the old-style web belt with the leather holster, I prefer it tilted like a gunslinger, and adjusted a size Mens louis vuitton belts larger accordingly. If you carry a heavy pistol like me, or if you are a construction worker using a web belt to support the weight of a toolbag, you may want to open it a size larger and slide the keepers in place so that the weight is on the side of your strong hand, and borne partially on the side of the opposing hip.
